An All-Advisory Committee Meeting on Monday February 4, 2019 consisted of a presentation on potential future school sites, auxiliary projects (e.g., SSHS and YVHS), and discuss their presentation to the BOE on 2/11.
An All-Advisory Committee Meeting on Tuesday January 22, 2019 consisted of a presentation on Fall 2018 public input (survey, forums, and focus groups), review of initial (and general) cost estimates on its scenarios, and a review of a January - May 2019 timeline.
An All-Advisory Committee Meeting on Tuesday October 16, 2018 consisted of a review of scenario rankings completed by Advisory Committee members, preparation for community forums, and a presentation from the communications committee on outreach roles and support.
An All-Advisory Committee Meeting on Tuesday September 25, 2018 consisted of a presentation and activities led by HCM to review goals, guidelines, and committee priorities as well as to discuss Strawberry Park campus-specific scenarios.
An All-Advisory Committee Meeting on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 consisted of a presentation of potential options for new buildings to address capacity needs in the Steamboat Springs School District. The new building scenarios include several options and ideas for expansion, and they are intended to generate discussion among committee members on what type of building addition and capacity solution would most effectively and efficiently meet the SSSD’s growth needs.
9/4/2018 Meeting Notes:
The All-Advisory Committee consists of 32 community and staff members on four advisory committees and meets regularly since forming in January 2018. The All-Advisory Committee is tasked with assessing long-term capacity solutions before making recommendations to the Steamboat community and the Board of Education. The Committee’s recommendations will be presented to the community through a series of community engagement events. A survey will be issued to community members to collect feedback on the capacity challenges and solutions. The community meetings are in the process of being scheduled for later this semester and will be announced by early October.
All new building scenarios presented are in draft form and are subject to change pending the Committee’s final recommendations.
An All-Advisory Committee Meeting on Wednesday August 22, 2018 consisted of a presentation and activities led by HCM to build on potential scenarios generated on 8/9, consider implications and impact of each scenario, and ask Advisory Committee members to indicate preferences for various scenarios.
An All-Advisory Committee Meeting on August 9, 2018 consisted of a Phase I construction update, debrief of summer conversations, recap of Phase II work to date and an overview of next steps, and a presentation and activities led by HCM to generate potential scenarios for further consideration.
An All-Advisory Committee Meeting on May 31, 2018 consisted of presentation from Steamboat Springs Parks & Recreation, the Boys & Girls Club of Steamboat Springs, and a district demographic update from Steamboat Springs School District Finance Director, Mark Rydberg. Additionally, each committee shared their progress.

An All-Advisory Committee meeting on April 19, 2018 consisted of a presentation from Tyler Gibbs, Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of Steamboat Springs. Mr. Gibbs shared information about current and future housing developments that will impact our schools. Additionally, each committee shared their progress and the Communications Committee previewed the new Advisory Committee website.

An All-Advisory Committee meeting on March 20, 2018 consisted of a progress share-out from each committee followed by presentations from SSSD principals who presented on the biggest needs at each of their facilities.
The SSSD Advisory Committees launched on January 23, 2018. Members gathered to gain context and learn about the role that the committees will play in helping the district develop long-term infrastructure solutions.
